The Role:
- Location: Mechanicsville, VA 23116
- Assignment duration: 91
- Practice Setting: Inpatient / Call
- Shift Type: Varied. Staffed Onsite (Weekdays): Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. On-Call (Weekday Evenings): Monday - Friday, 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM. On-Call (Weekends): Saturday 7:00 AM - Monday 7:00 AM.
- In House Call: Yes. STEMI call is aligned with unassigned call; call volume is low (159 activations in 2025 with a 47% cancellation rate). Providers may receive more phone triage while on-call; emergent callbacks occur slightly less than every other day.
- Cases: Balloon Angioplasties, Coronary Angioplasty, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), Heart Catheterization, Medical Management of Vascular Disease, Coronary Angiograms, Embolic Protection, Carotid Artery Stenting, Atherectomy
- Site Charting System: EPIC
- Potential for some rounding responsibility
- Call Ratio: 9 VCS to 7 RHV (TBD)
- Average Number of Inpatient Admissions Per Physician Per Day: 2 daily
- Total Number of Beds: 250
- Number of ICU Beds: 30
- Number of Interventional Cardiologists in Group: 18 (VCS) with additional cross-coverage
- Will Other Interventional Cardiologists be Present During Locum Coverage: Yes
- Will the Locum Physician be Required to Supervise Other Health Care Providers: No
- Patient Age Demographic: Adult, geriatric
- Facility reimbursement for the following costs: Flight, Hotel, Rental Car
- Submission requirements: Board Certified (required); BLS/ACLS (required); Active Virginia state license (required); Clean malpractice (required); must be available for listed dates at time of name clear (no exceptions). If provider has previously worked at the facility, include facility name, last date worked, and agency.
