The Role:
- Location: Gaylord, Cadillac, and Charlevoix, MI
- Shift Type: 24-hour coverage; coverage needed approximately 3 to 6 days per month. Days of week vary.
- Call Details: Yes — 24-hour call coverage typically 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.; beeper/phone call coverage; call ratio of 1:5; average callback volume varies.
- Cases: Routine vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, management of obstetric emergencies.
- Practice Setting: 100% Inpatient/Hospital-Based. Trauma Level I and Level II facilities. Patient population: Adult. Average daily patient volume: 2 to 5 patients, depending on census and acuity.
- Qualifications: Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology required; broad scope OB/GYN experience including routine deliveries, C-sections, and obstetric emergencies in a rural setting; clean malpractice history required. Candidates must hold an active Michigan medical license at time of submission.
- Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, EFM, and NRP. DEA registration required.
- Site Charting System: Oracle.
- Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days
