The Role:

  • Assignment duration: 6 - 12 months
  • Shift Type: 10 & 12 hour shifts Mon-Fri; 50 hour work week; 08:00 A-04:30 P
  • In House Call: In house (7a to 7p)
  • 3rd Call: MD call shift - 7pm to 7am
  • Weekend Call: MD (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Cases: OB, Ortho, Neuro Intervention, Vascular and Trauma, GI, GU, GYN, THORACIC, CVIR, MRI, Endoscopy, ACS, (minimal Peds)
  • OT: Occasional OT
  • Site Charting System: ICARE/ EPIC EMR (onsite EMR training)
  • Number of Anesthesia Rooms: OB (2 ORs); Main OR (15); CVIR/Specials (2); MRI/CT (1); Endo (3); Bronch (1)
  • Are MDs supervising CRNAs: 3:1 supervision model preferred; cannot offer supervision only.
  • What is the CRNA to MD ratio: 3:1 (preferred)
  • Credentialing Timeframe: 60 - 90 day credentialing

Responsibilities: Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department; medical management of patients rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other procedures; pre-anesthesia assessment; obtain/verify patient consent; discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients; induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia; monitoring of physiologic condition and performance of clinical interventions as needed.

Requirements: M.D./D.O. degree from an accredited college of medicine; completion of approved residency in Anesthesia; currently licensed as a Physician; ECFMG/FLEX as applicable.
